purchase train ticket Paris to Brussels

since we only have two days in Paris, is there anyway to purchase the train ticket (Thalys??) from Paris to Brussels online? (I don%26#39;t want the tickets to be mailed overseas to me, I worried of mail delay) It seems overseas purchase can%26#39;t be a self-print ticket. with language barrier, how can we pick up the online purchase tickets?

Can I buy the train ticket at the tourist info bureau on Rue Scribe? by Scribe Hotel? In light of short of time for sightseeing, we don%26#39;t want to waste time to travel to Gare du Nord to purchase the tickets the day before.

You can do this on the SNCF web site (follow the MorganB instructions). If there is a %26quot;prem%26quot; fare available you can print your own tickets. If not, you can pay on line and pick up at a train station or SNCF boutique before departure (you will need the confirmation number and the SAME credit card you used for payment).

Hi,

You can use http://www.thalys.com/ which is much easier to use than the SNCF site.

P.S. a list of SNCF boutiques can be found at the bottom of the page: voyages-sncf.com/guide/…indexGuide.html

Thanks!!! I ll try Thalys site to buy the train ticket then. hope I can print the ticket out myself. THE TGV site doesn%26#39;t allow this feature.

And I couldn%26#39;t figure out the address of those SFNC boutiques, since my last visit to Paris was 3 yrs ago/.

Whether you can print your ticket on the TGV (SNCF) site depends on what fare class you purchase. If you have a %26quot;prem%26quot; fare (steep discount) you can print it yourself. Otherwise, pay on line and pick it up at a train station or SNCF boutique. To get the discounted fares (if available on the dates/trains you want - they sell out fast), specify delivery in France.

can you elaborate %26#39;specify delivery in france%26#39;

mail it to my hotel?

Mmmm I might be biased. I don%26#39;t have much confidence on %26#39;french%26#39; style customer servie of the hotel.

i just worry looking for SFCN boutque waste time and there s language barrier at Gare du Nord.

You can ask to send the ticket to any French address, to receive them in SNCF boutique or to collect them at a ticket counter. If you have a credit card with electronic chip, you can also ask to receive them using a ticket machine.

All those options are very simple.

Although the site terms it as %26quot;delivery%26quot; what it really would mean in your case is that the ticket would be handed over (%26quot;delivered%26quot;) in France when the ticket agent gives it to you. No need to complicate things by trying to have it sent to a hotel - just specify that you will pick it up. (If you get a %26quot;prem%26quot; fare that you can print, then it%26#39;s %26quot;virtually delivered%26quot; and the computer doesn%26#39;t care where it%26#39;s located when you print it . . .)

The one thing you won%26#39;t be able to do is get it from a machine, because North American credit cards don%26#39;t have the necessary computer chip. That%26#39;s why you would go to the ticket agent - they can handle a card with a magnetic stripe rather than a chip (although, as noted above, you do need the confirmation number and the SAME credit card you used for payment on line, to confirm that you are the person who should be receiving the ticket).

You can also buy your tickets here in Canada (on-line) prior to departure and have them delivered to your home address prior to departure

THanks for the input. I will try to purchase it online after I finalize purchasing the flt %26amp; hotel package.

Is the fare more expensive if I buy the one way Paris-Brussels Thalys after I arrive Paris i.e. two days before departure?

The thing to remember about RailEurope is that it is basically a travel agency and charges a fairly large premium for service in addition to a large delivery charge.

Since the trip from Paris to Brussels is a short one, all those extra charges will be very noticeable when added on the regular Thalys fare.
