taxi from Airport?

We will be arrive mid afternoon. What would you reccomend as a mode of transport from airport to hetel.

|||

A Taxi Parisien, fare on the meter and 1€ per bag, about

45-55€. Just walk out to the taxi line and have the address written down to show to the driver.

A shared shuttle, 34€.

Various forms of public transportation, less expensive. Means dependent upon destination.

Depends on your situation and circumstances, personal preferences, special needs, BUDGET...and your final destination/address within Paris from CDG.

Will you be traveling alone?...number of people in your traveling party??...do you have physical mobility issues??...traveling with small children??...circus troupe baggage??...on a tight budget??...do you need printed instructions for passing through revolving doors??

A TAXI PARISIEN from a regular taxi rank outside of your arrival terminal building to most addresses within Paris will run 45-60 €uro ($65-$85)

Pre-reserved Shared Airport Shuttles will average 15-20 €uro ($22-$30) (among others--

There will be four of us that need a ride from the airport, would there be a form of transportation that could take all of us with our luggage, a larger taxis perhaps, and what would be the cost...

|||

In your case--4 passengers--you will probably be best served by a TAXI PARISIEN from the airport. There are mini-van type taxis that will handle your party and luggage. In addition to the metered fare, there will be an additional official surcharge of 2,70€ for the 4th passenger and 1€ per bag (after the 1st). Surcharges are ADDED to the metered fare. No tip is included within the meteredfare or surcharges for the driver.

|||

So, would those charges be less or more than if we just took two taxis? and what is the customary amount to tip these drivers...leop

|||

One taxi would be far cheaper. The only additional surcharges that you%26#39;re paying would be for the extra person. You%26#39;ll pay extra per bag regardless. Two taxis would cost about 90-120 Euro plus baggage surcharge. One would be around 45-60 Euro with the 2.70 surcharge and baggage surcharges.

A shuttle is also a fairly inexpensive option.

Good luck!

(We used Blu Shuttle with no problems).

Hope to arrive in Paris Cdg mid morning on the 11th November. Due to the bank holiday will transfers from the airport to central Paris be less frequent. What is the current price of a taxi / minibus from Cdg to Central Paris on a bank holiday? If you have any transfer suggestions, grateful for any ideas. Thanks.

|||

No,no, with four people you don%26#39;t need two taxis! Just wait at the taxi stand at CDG after collecting your luggage and the appropriate vehicle will pull up to take you. With four of us and and three large suitcases we easily fit into just a regular taxi or station wagon/type taxi. The taxi service that I called to return us to the airport sent a van but a larger vehicle is no charge. They charge you for extra people (over two I think?) and per suitcase. Not the cheapest way to go but the best after a long trip, and stress-free.

|||

I think you%26#39;re allowed three people before you%26#39;re charged for the extra for the 4th. Could be wrong, but I think that%26#39;s the experience we%26#39;ve always had.

Happy travels!

Vicki
