how many euros?

My daughter and I are travelling to London and will be taking the train from London to Paris for a day trip. (Can%26#39;t believe it can be possible, we can%26#39;t wait!) Any suggestions of how many euros we should take for the day. We%26#39;ll be taking a bus from the train station to the Eiffel tower and having a light lunch somewhere. Travelling back to London on the train in the late evening so we%26#39;ll also need a moderate supper as well. Does anyone know how much a %26quot;carnet%26quot; of 10 tickets costs? Thanks for you help.

I don%26#39;t think a carnet will be worthwhile vs just buying individual tickets. The Eurostar goes to the Gare du Nord. Take the northeast exit and board the 42 city bus, which has a very scenic route to the Eiffel Tower.

It is a guess on my part...as to how many euros.

Do you need to buy museum entrance fee? Ice cream, drinks, snacks? Eat form the street vendors?

Are you going to order wine with meals?

I would say 150 to 200 euros at least.

A carnet of ten tickets (you can share them) costs €11.40. Single tickets are €1.60. You could easily use five tickets each with only one day in Paris.

Or, you could purchase one day Mobilis passes for unlimited travel on the metro, bus, RER, for €5.80. These are convenient versus keeping used/unused carnet tickets straight.

If you plan to go to Montmartre, it%26#39;s good to have tickets/a pass for the finicular and riding Montmartobus all over, rather than climbing up/down steep sidewalks.

If it%26#39;s a nice day, you may want to consider

There%26#39;s a stop at Gare du Nord. Views from seats on the open air upper decks are magnificent, so you%26#39;re able to enjoy all the scenery, neighborhoods, monuments, as you travel. It%26#39;s terrific to be able to hop off in an interesting neighborhood, especially if it%26#39;s chock full of appealing dining, cafes, shopping.

As for Euros, you probably won%26#39;t need any. You can pay for anything with a debit or credit card.

On the Eurostar, they will accept payment in either pounds or euros, so you won%26#39;t need to budget euros for that.
