Paris to Rome in 3 weeks by Car

Hi All,

My wife and I are just about to head off on a 12 month world trip, Australia-Fiji (1 Week)-Canada (10 Months)-New York (1 Week)-London (1 Week)-Paris to Rome(3 weeks)-HK+KL(1.5 weeks)-Australia.

Part of our trip will be to spend 3 weeks driving from Paris to Rome, using the Peugeot or Renault leasing programs. We are looking to go Paris-Brussels-Luxembourg-Bern-Venice-Pisa-Rome.

Just wanted to get everyone%26#39;s general thoughts. The idea is to not necessarily do the touristy things, but more to experience the culture, history and %26quot;feel%26quot; of the back roads and villages and not so visited places. Will 3 weeks be long enough? Any changes to the intinerary that you would recommend?

Thanks

Hi

We have just returned from 5 weeks in UK/Barcelona and then 17 days in the south of France. I don%26#39;t think you have allowed enough time in Europe. We don%26#39;t like doing the real touristy things and spent a week in Montpazier...a little village in Dordogne..where we visited Bordeaux which we loved and apart from that a lot of very interesting villages. We then spent another week in Uzes on the border of Provence..a very busy village and also visited nearby villages. It was fun to use our schoolday French plus we did have a little French/English dictionary.

We had already been to Paris and Rome on a previous trip and they are a must do but this time wanted to keep to the villages. We used French Cottages which consists of 7 cottages owned by 2 Aussie guys..1 lives in Melbourne...these were great and it was good to have a satelite TV because you do miss the English news.en.You will love New York...why 10months in Canada. Been there too and loved it.
