Paris to Roeun in a day by car - help please!

We will pick up a car in St Germain-en-Leye and drive to Rouen (overnight there). We will go to Giverney, (sadly Chateau Gaillard seems to be closed on Tuesdays - when are there) - can we see much if we go there anyway? I am doing a lot of reading, but need a bit of help with the rest of the trip. I assunme we go to les Andelys, but what would you suggest as the route from there to Rouen? For example - does it seem logical to go to Abbey Fontaine Guerard - or is this really too far out of the way? I%26#39;d really appreicate some advice, thanks so much

Try going to Google %26#39;Maps%26#39; and get directions from St Germain to Giverny (about 33 miles) and then from Giverny to Rouen (about 41 miles)

We drove part of the Route des Abbayes after we left Rouen. We really enjoyed Abbaye des Jumieges. Of course we were not our our way to Paris - we had left Rouen and were headed on into Normandy. The abbaye is on D65.

We went to Chateau Gaillard while it was closed. You can look at the outside of the chateau and see a lovely view of the entire valley. We enjoyed it even though it was closed.

I think if you take a look at the Michelin map for Normandy it would help you plan your route.

You%26#39;ll enjoy Rouen, we did.

Thanks for the replies, however I must not have explained myself very clearly. I will, of course, use viamichelin to work out the most direct route. But what I am really seeking is some tips on what is feasible to do in terms of taking side roads etc to see kep points of interest. I am finding it a bit tricky with the Seine meandering around, and want to know what would be logical/possible to do, which may not necessarily following viamichlein point-to-point directions. I look forward to more feedback, thanks so much.
