Banyuls-sur-mer

I threw some darts at map of France (in a good way), and one of them landed on Banyuls-sur-mer.

I%26#39;m considering a visit perhaps during the late fall or winter. (Early October - Early January) What is there to do there and what would the temperature be during that time? What would also be a good time to visit? What would you recommend for a solo female traveler in her 30s in the city or the local region? Thanks.

Early October is OK, the weather is usually very good and you will be able to swim. January and February are the two coldest months in this area.

Banyuls is a very small town and will be completely dead in January. It is also a bit out of the way so if you do not have a car you%26#39;ll have to rely on trains to get you anywhere from Spain (10 km away) to Collioure (12 km) to Perpignan (45 km).

There is an Oceanographic Institute (interesting aquarium) Maillol%26#39;s farm a few kilometers (small museum) and of course Banyuls wine to taste.
