Cap d'Antibes by Bus??

Going on holiday to Antibes this year and was wondering whether it%26#39;s possible to get a bus from the centre of Antibes to Cap d%26#39;Antibes to go for a day out eg beaches, Hotel du Cap or La Garoupe lighthouse?

Thanks

It certainly is I did it last summer, here is a link to the excellent Bus website, there is an english version. http://www.envibus.fr/default.asp

Here is a link to the map for the Cap section envibus.fr/plan/Secteur_Antibes_Vallauris.pdf

The buses No 2 or 4 leave Antibes Bus Station, (at the top of the pedestrian area) the No 2 goes through the middle of the Cap to Eden Roc, we got off there, as we didnt know where we were going we followed the other people on the bus! and found a couple of small places you could get down to the sea, we then walked back in the direction the bus had come and then walked down the side of the Hotel (not sure which one) and there was another small bay, where again you could get down to the sea, not a beach just rocks to sit on.

We again followed the bus route back up the road, heading for Garoupe beach, on the map from the Eden Roc stop to Garoupe beach it was about a 15-20 mins walk to give you an idea. We then spent the afternoon on the beach before walking up to the Lighthouse, again on the same map it is in the middle bit coloured green with a cross, the only map we had was this bus map, so we just followed the streets walking passed some fabulous houses until we reached the Lighthouse, the last part through the trees was quite steep! We then walked back down and got on the bus back to Antibes, it is €1 on the bus, tickets are valid for 3 hours, print out the timetables for the buses and you cant go wrong.

Excellent, thanks a lot!!! That%26#39;s really useful and will definitely check out the Cap. Less than a week till we go away, so can%26#39;t wait!

Seral gave you very good advice but I am going to make a suggestion on the walk. Take the bus to the stop for Eilen Roc a beautiful home and garden near the Eden Roc which is open on Wednesdays, ask the bus driver they will show you the stop, the street it is on is Mrs Beaumont.

Walk toward Eilen Roc (visit if you can) but right before you get to the gate on the left is the road which takes you to the path that goes from Eilen Roc to Garoupe beach along the water%26#39;s edge, it is a spectacular walk, no to be missed. There are small pedestrian signs which point the way.

When you get to Garoupe have a long leisurely lunch at Plage Keller then on to the lighthouse and chapel which are wonderful at sunset.

When you leave the lighthouse area there is a path at the north end of the parking lot which will take you through the pine woods, when you come out on the street turn right and it will take you to Salis beach where you can pick up the bus back to town.
