Hi all hope you can give me some help, i will be arriving in nantes 30th june, family of four. None of us drive so looking for the best way to get to the campsite. . we arrive about 8pm so have noticed from looking at other listings that there is a shuttle bus that goes to st jean-de-monts, which is near were we are going. Does anyone know how much a taxi would cost? or even of someone that does tranfers privately?. any advice would be much appreciated

Hi Veronica,
Shuttle available from Nantes Airport to Nantes Train Station. Trains to Challans which is the nearest train station to St. Jean approx 11 miles. The web site www.sncf.fr give time of trains and price etc. There is a regular bus service from Challans to St. Jean.

Am I peculiar??
It would not occur to me EVER to book a family holiday without having a clue how to get to the holiday destination. And to leave it %26#39;till a few days before leaving!! Words fail me!
And a campsite without transport? How do you get your basic supplies? Relying solely on the camp site shop would substantially increase the cost of the holiday.

Aaardvack i was asking for advice to go this holiday and practical suggestions however all you managed to do is sit on your ivory tower and pass judgement on why you could never just book a holiday without not knowing how to get to the site!!! I asked a question i wasnt asking anyones opinion on whether they would do the same as me. Why did you even bother to post ?

there is a bus service organised by the st jean tourist office if you are staying in villas or mobiles homes in the town

I have asked the tourist office for you - the details of cost are copied below; you would need to pay them in advance with credit card. If you have booked direct with the campsite they will be able to give you the form to fill in to book the bus service
or I have some forms and could fax or email them to you
