Leaving in 3 days! Staying at Hotel Brighton. Where to eat!

Hi all,

These forums have been my God send for trips from Cozumel to the Grand Canyon to Yorkshire and now, to Paris! We (hubby and two teenagers)have two rooms at the Hotel Brighton (2 rooms, 4th floor, Tuileries view per TAs suggestions)and would love suggestions on where to eat nearby.I know Angelines has fabulous hot chocolate, but is it good for breakfast? Any other suggestions for a quick coffee and a croissant? For dinner, we have reservations at Le Souffle for one night. We are going the casual route, so no George V this time. There are so many restaurants in that area it is hard to tell which ones are good. Any help would be so much appreciated! Merci!!!

Yes Angelina%26#39;s would be great for breakfast. However, I think the way to go is to grab a pastry (e.g., pain au chocolat or pain au raisin--or something like that)from a patisserie and get coffee from a cafe if you want (don%26#39;t sit down at a table outside or you might pay more), or juice in a little market. That holds you over until lunch when you have tons of choices. Half of the fun in Paris is finding opportunities to eat great pastries. Breakfast is perfect. And the restaurants don%26#39;t have the best ones--the patisseries do.

Le Souffle is an excellent choice.

Au Gourmand, 17 r. Moliere, 01 42 96 22 19 is an excellent retaurant. You will enjoy it.

Breakfast...Le Pain Quotidien, 18 Pl. Marche St. Honore...a good spot. You will see some other restaurants in the area.

Enjoy......

Thanks all. Yes, grabbing a coffee and pastry and taking it back to the sleeping teenagers is the way I need to go. Otherwise, we%26#39;d be waiting all morning for them! :)

I%26#39;ll check out the restaurants suggestions for dinner as well. Can%26#39;t wait!

I second Francophool%26#39;s opinion of Le Souffle. We enjoyed a wonderful meal there in December. You might also try Le Reminet for dinner. It%26#39;s almost directly across the river from Notre Dame on r. des Grand Degrés in the 5th. You%26#39;ll need to stop in or call to make a reservation; even if you call or stop the day you want to dine there for dinner.

Thanks, Happygoin. We%26#39;ll check it out. Can%26#39;t believe we%26#39;re leaving in less than 24 hours. Woo Hoo!

Sorry, one more question. Are these restaurants generally open on Mondays? On another post I%26#39;ve seen several recommendations for L%26#39;ardoise, on the same street as Le Souffle, but it appeared to be closed on Mondays.
