packing question

I did a search and couldn%26#39;t find the exact answer to my question so I am hoping you Paris experts can help!!

Family of 4 going to Paris and then on to Normandy, etc. Traveling light, one carryon per person.

My question is when we return to Paris I would like to have a nice dinner out for our last night - probably a bistro. I have a nice print skirt, sandals and top and hubby has some travel khakis (not the zip off kind) and a nice polo shirt. Kids will have khaki%26#39;s and a collared shirt but THEIR shoes will probably be of the athletic variety.

Would this be acceptable attire for dining in a bistro?

Thanks for your help!!!

No problem, bistros are pretty informal.

Thanks so much for your help!

I agree that your dress would be fine for a bistro. It would even be fine for many restaurants--just not really fancy restaurants or Michelin 3-starred restaurants.

Have a great time.

I found I brought nice clothes and didn%26#39;t wear them much; we never dined at a real restaurant (the kids did%26#39;t care about it) but ate informally at cafes and bistros and just wore what we had on for sightseeing (nice jeans, capris, jackets as it was cooler) and our athletic or walking shoes. Truly NO ONE cares as long as you look clean and decent. Just be comfortable, and make sure what you have on your feet will get you more than a few blocks.

One of my favourite things about eating out in Paris is that one can wear pretty much anything for eating out. I%26#39;ve dressed up in a posh frock, worn jeans or a pretty skirt and top and always felt comortable. You%26#39;ll all be fine, just enjoy the food!

Thank you all for your replies !!

I am REALLY looking forward to eating some fabulous food in France! Hmm... maybe I should reconsider those elastic waist pants.....
