what is the weather like? what do we pack?

We are leaving for Paris this weekend and I wanted to know how the weather is this time of year. Can one wear capri jeans and tank tops or would it be too cool for tank tops and rather pack short sleeves? also, do you need a jacket at night? please advise. thanks. also, any really cool things to do for teenagers there besides the typical museums and sights? any water parks for example or something just fun and out of the ordinary? thanks.

We%26#39;re going on Saturday, the forecast is sunny for Sunday and Monday and 22oC. Its a bit cooler than when Ive been in July other years but hopefully T%26#39;s, capris and a sweater/jacket for evening will be fine. I%26#39;m taking an umbrella too - but that%26#39;s because the weather in Lancashire is dreadful! Have a look at www.accuweather.com.

You can%26#39;t count on any particular weather no matter what accuweather.com says. They change their reports drastically because the weather is very changeable in Paris. Get a ballpark idea and then bring %26quot;layers%26quot; and an umbrella. Bring a light jacket for evenings.

In case you are planning to visit any churches, you need to have covered shoulders so keep that in mind as you pack--a shirt with sleeves or a shawl or scarf to put around your shoulders.

There are tons of things for teenagers to do in Paris. If they want a water park, why are they going all the way to Paris? There are water parks a lot closer to Las Vegas? Really, it is a waste to be in Paris and wish they were at a waterpark. My 22-year old son just returned home from Las Vegas and he said it is hot as can be so I understand the desire for a water park. I%26#39;m just saying that it isn%26#39;t the reason to go to Paris.

Use the search function at the top of this forum to find activities for teenagers. I just wrote a list for someone bringing their 19 year old son and another poster commented that the list worked well for their two teenagers too. There are a number of these lists already on this forum.

It will be warm enough for what you%26#39;re suggesting but you will probably be more comfortable in something a little less casual. Parisians are more formal than we Americans and tend to dress nicely even when they are just going out for errands. Slacks and nice capris are fine, but I%26#39;d avoid the tank tops and %26quot;beachwear%26quot; look. In Paris, you are going to get sized up by shopkeepers, waiters, hotel personnel and just about anyone with whom you come in contact. If you don%26#39;t care, that%26#39;s fine too.

no not beachwear by any means. LOL. I meant to say sleeveless tops versus short sleeves. From what I am seeing it doesn%26#39;t really look like summer weather but more like a rainy spring. Just not sure if we will sweat to death wearing short sleeves or if the girls are better off in sleeveless tops. do you really need a jacket for at night in the summer?

You are used to very hot weather in Las Vegas! Europe is not like that. I am not sure about July now, but June was mostly sunny, 60s and the high was 70 one day. Even if the sun is warm enough for short sleeves (which are fine) if the sun goes in you may find yourself cool, so perhaps a sweater you can put in your bag or a jacket. Even though you have to carry it around, it%26#39;s better than being cold once you are far from your hotel. Museums, however, get very warm. And leave the tank tops at home. Capris are fine, but neutral colors are best.

thanks so much. I kind of figured short sleeves was the way to go. 70 is cold to us here in the desert!! lol.

We left Paris on 6th July and for the 2 weeks I was there it was warm. We never needed our jackets or umbrellas at all. In fact I left some of my warner clothes behind in the hotel room because I didnt have room in my suitcase (it was summer sale time). In fact we almost melted whilst queuing at the Palace of Versailles.

thanks so much for the helpful info. would you reccomend short sleeves durring the day or sleeveless tops? We dont want to melt but we don%26#39;t want to freeze either and we just don%26#39;t know what to pack.

Im not an expert on the weather in Paris but from my experience I would definitely dress for the warmer weather but take a couple of cardigans just in case it gets a bit cool. The evenings can get cooler but by no means was it cold at night! I took about 4 pairs of jeans and had to go out and buy a couple of dresses just cause I got so hot. Remember you do a lot of walking in Paris and you warm up pretty quickly! Paris is just beautiful and I wish I was back there now! Enjoy!
