We are planning to use this service in August has anyone used it before? any comments are you best to arrive early or later, does this affect unloading times, how easy is the station to find in Avignon

Hi
I haven%26#39;t used it for a few years from Avignon but looking at the motorail web-site it seems like its biggest drawback still exists.
The cars have to be loaded at the motorail station which is just off of the N7 and is signposted. They always used to provide maps as well. Then you have to take a shuttle to the main station where the train leaves from. Don%26#39;t worry they do bring the cars round to join the train!
This means that you can go into Avignon for a meal before you leave. I think they have improved the shuttle and now publish times when it leaves. Be sure to get there in time to catch one. We just missed one once and waited over an hour, gave up and caught a taxi. It also means that there is more hanging around from dropping the car until the train leaves.
It is impossible to predict when to arrive to get your car in the best place for unloading as you have no idea of when everybody else is going to turn up.
I have not been on the motorail for 4 years but they used to load the bottom, then the top. On unloading it used to be the top first then the bottom.
I hope that helps a little.
