From CDG to Lazare for train to Bayeux

We arrive at CDG at 7:25 and need to catch a 10:43 train at Lazare to Bayeux. Is it feasible to get through custums, change some money and get there on time and what sort of transportation is quick and cheap for first time arrivers in France.

Hi lcfowler - We%26#39;re looking at the same exact itinerary. Arriving CDG on USAirways from Philadelphia at 7:25 and our goal is to get to Bayeux. How did you get to St Lazare from CDG? How was lugging luggage?

Thanks,

Just returned from our trip and alas we did not make the 10:43 train from Gare St. Lazare to Caen. We were pretty close though. We were meeting other family members flying to Paris from another U.S. city and if their flight had been on time we could have easily made it for the 10:43 train. Their flight arrived about 8:45 a.m. and we missed the train by 20 minutes.

We arrived at Terminal 1 on US Airways and took the CDGVAL electric monorail shuttle to Terminal 2 where you pick up the RER to Gare St. Lazare. We took RER route B (B3) to Gare du Nord and then switched there to the Magenta station and route E (E1) to Haussmann St-Lazare. The RER B train that we were riding didn%26#39;t make any stops until we got inside of Zone 1 with the first stop being Gare du Nord. This was an OK route for transferring lines - there was almost always an elevator or escalator for luggage but there was a lot of walking between Gare du Nord and Magenta as the RER map indicates with the big oval area connecting the stations. I believe that the only stairs that we had to navigate were at Gare St-Lazare, maybe a flight or two to get to the trains. Once at Gare St-Lazare, we had 40 minutes to kill before our departure, and found several cafes and a Starbucks right outside the station. There%26#39;s very little sitting space inside the station - it was worth getting outside in the sun and getting a breath of Paris air before hopping onto the train for Caen.

Bon journee!
