How far to walk from 6th to Gare St Lazare?

We%26#39;re not early risers, but need to get to Gare St Lazare for the 7:12am train to Bayeux on a Tuesday morning.

We checked the bus and train routes from the apartment (near Rue Hautefeuille-Blvd St Germain)and it looks like we need to take 2 buses or 2 trains to get there.

How far is it to walk, and what would be the best route?

Thanks so much for your help!

Hi;

You have about a 3.5 klm walk.

But the metro #4 direction Porte de Clignancourt, changing to the #3 at Reamur Sebastopol direction Pont de Levallois to Gare St Lazare. is under 20 minutes depending on connections....

If you decide to walk print yourself a %26quot;mappy%26quot; map or Google map....

Thanks Craigmore! It was the connections that we were a bit concerned about.

We are in the middle of the Odeon and Cluny La Sorbonne Metro stations. Which one would be the best to get to line #4 Clignancourt?

Thanks for your help...

It would be best to learn to consult the Metro/RER map so you can understand how to make these connections. Find your nearest stop, find the stop you need to reach, then find where those lines intersect.

You can even get this advice online by using the %26#39;itinerary%26#39; router.

Thanks Travelnutty,

I just had a look at the rail sites and you%26#39;re right, we do have to try to learn them. I tried to do an itinery but it only allowed me to do it for today%26#39;s date. My French is poor which doesn%26#39;t help. But thanks for your help!

Hi Karen50;

If you made it to the www.ratp.fr site as Travelnutty suggested you will see that the Odeon metro is for metro #4.

From where you are on Hautefeuille you could also walk down that street to Place St Andre des Arts and catch the #4...

Thanks again Craigmore and Travelnutty.

Final Q... husband wants to know about taking a taxi to St Lazare.

Any ideas of how long this would take and cost?

merci beaucoup

|||

I%26#39;m gonna guess about 10-12E... how long depends on traffic, of course. Maybe 10-15 minutes? The meter starts from wherever the taxi leaves to come get you, and a euro or so per bag loaded.

Thanks Travelnutty, this is good info. We just need to decide which suits our sleepy teens best lol.

Regards

Karen
