Kayak on the River Sienne

I saw on the cities web site that there are free kakays in the month of August. Has anyone done this? how was it? How are the lines to get one?

I%26#39;m going to be real surprised if kayaks are offered for use on the Seine within Paris. It is a rather heavily trafficked river by commercial boats.

Do you mean this one, by Parc de Villette, or Canal St Martin?
