Stuck @ cdg...

So it looks like we will be stuck at Paris%26#39;s CDG for about 8 hours due to our frequent flyer tickets. Can anyone make any suggestions of things to do around the airport to kill some time and maybe get a taste of Paris? We will be staying there on the return for 3 nights so this is not our only time in Paris. TIA!

Well, this type of question has been asked before. Believe it or not, 8 hours really isn%26#39;t THAT long, although it might feel that way if all you do is sit in the terminal.

You don%26#39;t say at what time you will arrive, but if it covers the lunch or dinner time, why not make a reservation for a nice lunch/dinner at the Sheraton Hotel (directly inside the airport)? You could easily kill 3 hours doing that.

You could kill about 2 just wandering in and out of the shops in the airport. Then, it should be about time to head to security and check in.

You%26#39;ll have much more fun when you return for your 3 nights in the city.

We arrive CDG @ 9:40am and depart for VCE @ 6:15pm.

Will you have bags with you or will they be checked to your final destination?

We will check them through - we will probably have one small carry on, not a big deal.

Then I would consider the dining at the Sheraton and shopping idea.

See the choice of their restaurants (including hours open) here:

Sorry for the long link.

Considering your budget, you could consider taking a room for a fresh shower and change of clothing, then dining in one of the restaurants. If the Sheraton is too expensive to consider this (as it is certainly not cheapP, you could choose another of the closest airport hotels - with shuttles, but you%26#39;d have to be very careful as they do take more time (the shuttles) than you%26#39;d expect getting you back and forth from the terminal.

Thanks for the idea, I will look into it!

About the shopping - I was there in June, and noticed that there were far fewer shops (and not nearly as nice) compared to the last several trips. This was in terminal 2 - don%26#39;t know about the others - but many of the small outposts of known stores were no longer there, and it wasn%26#39;t nearly as much fun as in the past.

It seems like all the shops/restaurants moved over to the new Terminal 2E
