whats the french name for petrol?

What should i be looking out for at the petrol station for unleaded? thankyou

You want sans plomb (without lead).

Usually the nozzles are green, and are marked SP95 and SP98. SP is Sans Plomb, and the figures are octane or something similar. SP98 is dearer, most modern cars will run quite happily on SP95.
